The Rotary Club of Wangaratta and Wang Lit Fest are sponsoring GANEAA (Goulburn & North East Artists Alliance) for local creative visual arts specialist, Jacquie Coupe, to provide her very special workshops for local children in the lead up to the Rotary Wangaratta Wang Lit Fest and Book Fair.

Children between 9 and 14 are invited to tell their stories through manipulating pages and images, creating collages and drawings, using words and symbols to produce a 3D diary to keep secrets and share feelings.

Tell stories of old, make plans for the future, store secrets, experiment with paper craft and ready-made imagery. Use 2D and 3D effects to create a stunning storybook! Abandoned books becomes the bones of a work of art. Keep the love of books alive; marvel at the sensation of handling these tomes of information!

Not only do we read books – in them in the past parts of our lives have been stored for safe keeping, mementos stashed, lists misplaced, flowers pressed, ideas noted, pages removed or reshaped.

Reworked books will be displayed for others to read, at Wangaratta Library, following the workshops.

Please contact Jacquie Coupe on 0423 500 584 to book or for any further information.
